A lot of time has passed since the 1991 death of our tournament namesake, Steve Cox. Since then, the void created by his absence has been filled, at least in part, by the amazing evolution of the event that is dedicated to his memory. Now the largest single-day amateur charity golf event in the country, the Cox Classic has never purposefully strived to be the biggest. Rather, our reasons for being have remained the same all along: to remember Steve and to help kids. In the meantime, thanks to our loyal core of participants, volunteers, and corporate sponsors, we've reached new heights each and every year. Which means we're now helping more children than ever. And to think that it all started with a simple plan to give a little boost to a good friend...
